The Broncos struggled out of the gate in 2022, and were saddled with having to compete in what was arguably the strongest conference in the region.

With eventual state champion Aquin, along with major powers Dakota, Durand and Lena-Winslow - the conference schedule was brutal. In fact, the Broncos only had two conference wins as they swept Pearl City. And while they took Pecatonica to the limit, they still never beat them as they finished only 2-10 in the conference and 9-19 overall.
