Ripping The Lid Off

Basketball players are well aware of the phrase, "Taking the lid off the basket." It often refers to a team that continues to miss shots, even good ones. For the Lena-Winslow Panthers, they had been in such a bad shooting rut over the last week that the "lid" seemed to be strapped down with iron wrappings and bolted in place.

Throughout the first half of their conference battle Monday night with Pearl City, the Panthers shooting woes continued. From anything outside of ten feet, nothing wanted to go down, in fact – if not for ten "put back" points off of offensive rebounds, Lena-Winslow...
