Residential Fire

Early Friday morning, 1/29/21, Freeport Fire units responded to a working fire at a Multi-Family Dwelling that broke out while residents were asleep.

Eight family members living in the most heavily involved unit, were awoken by Smoke Detectors, and were fortunate to escape the blaze. One member of the family was treated and released at FHN for minor burns. In all, 16 individuals were displaced due to damage from the fire.

Freeport firefighters worked for several hours, with additional manpower being required to bring the fire under control.
