Formerly known as the Stephenson CountyNursing Center, Walnut Acres has seen some major changes.
A new solar field will provide clean, renewable solar power for Walnut Acres Nursing Center while saving Stephenson County over $1.5 million in electrical costs over 20 years.
Planned, funded, and executed by the Stephenson Nursing Center Foundation, the nearly completed 460 kW AC solar panel field is the culmination of a two-year effort of the Stephenson County government and the Stephenson Nursing Center Foundation to build the over $900,000 facility.
