Gwen Stewart assumed the role of Animal Control Officer for Jo Daviess County in September 2021. Prior to her employment with the County, she worked as a Community Service Officer for the West Des Moines Police Department in Iowa, worked as an animal cruelty investigator for the State of Illinois, and worked at vet clinics as both a large and small animal veterinary technician. Gwen has been busy in the last year working on animal neglect cases, hoarding cases, rabies awareness, and other important animal issues.
