A major thoroughfare in Freeport has a new look and safety upgrades, thanks to a $1 million state grant secured by State Sen. Brian Stewart (R-Freeport) for West Empire Street.

The 45th District Senator joined community leaders and residents Sept. 30 in celebrating the official opening of the refurbished West Empire Street in Freeport.
