The City of Freeport is pleased to announce an award from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for a Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) acquisition and demolition grant. The grant, totaling $3,395,568.25, will be matched with $1,132,556.75 from the City of Freeport for a total project cost of $4,528,125.00.

The City will be reaching out to those who signed up for the PDM Grant Program in the coming weeks to discuss next steps. The Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) must initiate the local grant agreement, which may take between four to six weeks.
