Scott M. Berget, 38

Scott M. Berget, age 38 of Wiota, WI passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in Lena, IL.

He was born April 17, 1983 in Monroe, WI the son of Mike and Judy (Wedig) Berget. Scott grew up in Wiota where he farmed on Berget Family Farms and Silver Creek Family Farms where he was co-owner. He graduated from Darlington High School in 2002. Scott took great pride in his family farm and could often times be found proudly checking his crops.

Scott is survived by his parents: Mike and Judy Berget of Wiota; the love of his life: Melissa Grindey of Lena, IL and her two children Landon and Lila; one brother: Matt (Stacie) Berget of Wiota; two sisters: Christina (Bart) Meylor of Darlington and Meghan (Jeremy) Saunders of Gratiot, WI; his nieces and nephews that he absolutely adored: Victorria, Ike, Lizzie, and Molli Meylor, Bryce, Kylie, and Easton Berget, Tinley and Jett Saunders; his maternal grandmother: Bernie Wedig-Wiegel of Darlington; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Wes and Ruth Berget; and his maternal grandfather: Leo Wedig.

Scott was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington and The Wisconsin Corn Growers Association. When Scott wasn’t working on the farm he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, golfing, boating, and snowmobiling. Scott always had plenty of stories to tell, often times making a “long story short” that lead to many laughs and smiles from all who knew him. Scott had a knack for making everyone he met feel special.

Scott’s favorite humans on the planet were his nieces and nephews. He made sure each and every one of them knew how much he loved them and how proud he was of them. Scott cherished the time he spent with them, and the rest of his family creating memories they will all cherish forever.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (104 E. Harriet St., Darlington) with Rev. JoJi Reddy, Rev. Mike Morrisey of Holy Cross Parish in Stockton, IL con-celebrating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery in Wiota. A visitation was held Monday, July 12, 2021 from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. Terry S. Hay, 71

Terry S. Hay, 71, of Lena passed away at his home on Saturday, July 3, 2021. He was born on May 25, 1950 to John, Jr. and Lusetta (Olson) Hay in Monroe, WI. Terry was a 1968 graduate of Warren High School. He married June Sedwick on August 23, 1980. Terry was a dedicated and lifelong trucker who valued hard work.

Terry is survived by his son, Christopher Hay of Lakewood, WA; granddaughter Aurora Hay of Lakewood, WA; sister Sharon (Mike) Donahue of Dubuque, IA; three brothers: John (Jan) Hay of New Glarus, WI, Gary (Gwen) Hay of Warren, IL and Kevin (Yvonne) Hay of Warren, IL and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife June, his parents, and in-laws.

Visitation was held from 9:00 am until the time of service, Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lena. Rev. Rick Bader officiated. Burial was held at the Lena Burial Park.

Pearl City

Diane M. Chambers, 73

Diane M. Chambers, age 73 of Pearl City, IL passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport.

She was born on June 24, 1948 in Freeport to the late Donald and Maebelle (Eells) DeVries. Diane married Dean Chambers on April 29, 1966 in Spring Valley, IL.

Diane was a 1966 graduate of Pearl City High School. She had worked at Boco in Pearl City, Casey’s in Shannon, and for the Pearl City School District. She enjoyed showing horses and sewing. Diane loved her family and never missed her grandchildren’s extra-curricular activities.

She is survived by her husband, Dean Chambers of Pearl City; her daughters, Dawn (Steven) Elliott of Freeport, Darcy (Bill) Schierloh of Lena, and Dana (Mike) Pettinger of Yukon, NE; her grandchildren, Charles Elliott, Samantha Elliott, Ryan Schierloh, Lillian Schierloh, Madalyn Schierloh, Tyler Lewis, Kayleen Pettinger and Reyana Pettinger. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Jo Ann Wilkin, and her infant daughter, Deanne Michelle.

The funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Hermann Funeral Home in Pearl City at 10:30 a.m. There was a visitation on Monday, July 12, 2021 also at the Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. Nora

E. Louise McNett, 89

E. Louise McNett, age 89, of Nora, IL passed away Friday, July 09, 2021 at Lena Living Center.

She was born February 13, 1932 in Gratiot, WI to the late Ira and Hazel (Brown) Stevens. Louise married Robert McNett.

Louise worked at Microswitch for over 30 years. She enjoyed puzzles and talking, especially giving orders.

She is survived by her sons, Steve McNett of Janesville, WI, Mike McNett of Piney Point, MD, and Jeff (Janan) McNett of Warren; her daughters, Merrie (Terry) Bardell of Freeport, Robyn Franklin of Forreston, and Lori Loomis of Freeport; her 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Harold (Audrey) Stevens; her sisters, Irene (Russell) Shade and Katherine (Homer) VanMater; and her brother-in-law, Delvin (Doris) McNett.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Nora Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established. Louise’s family would like to thank the staff at the Lena Living Center and Serenity Hospice for their loving care. Condolences may be shared at http://www.hermannfuneralhome.com.
