Eastland head coach, Jason Hill, addresses the field before sending the players out for the start of the tournament.

A total of 18 teams – 11 Girls teams and 7 Boys – all made their way to the Lake Carroll Clubhouse Saturday morning to compete in the Eastland Invitational.

And although a spitting rain opened the tournament, they were able to complete the 18 hole contest, with last year's reigning state champion in 1A – Marcus Smith of Winnebago – easily out-doing the field to claim first place overall with an impressive score of only 71.

In spite of his score, the Fulton team placed four golfers in the top ten to claim the overall team honors for the Boys as they beat Winnebago by 13 strokes.
