LuAnn Kay Jordan, 61
LuAnn Kay Jordan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, surrounded by love. Born on September 26, 1962, to Lewis and Carole (Knauer) Busjahn Jr. LuAnn touched the hearts of everyone who had the honor of knowing her.
On November 30, 1985, she married the love of her life, Mark Wilbur Jordan. Together, they built a life full of joy, adventure, and unwavering love, raising four wonderful children: Stephanie, Dustin, Ben, and Hilary.
LuAnn was a woman of many passions. She was a lover of dancing, music, and a particular fondness for singing. She reveled in traveling, exploring both local and international destinations with family and friends. Her adventurous spirit was complemented by her deep faith, which she shared readily with those around her.
Her life was deeply enriched by her connections with people. She treasured her time walking with her YMCA friends, spending time with her sisters, cherishing her grandchildren, and found joy in hosting gatherings, game nights, and movie nights with her Tuesday crew. A proud and active member of the Lena Lion’s Club and a former Jaycee member, LuAnn was dedicated to her community. She selflessly served as a volunteer hospice nurse and worked for over 20 years as a Nurse Practitioner at FHN, where she developed lifelong relationships with her FHN family and wonderful patients
LuAnn was a natural leader, a creative soul, and an advocate for cancer awareness. Her influence touched many, from her local community to her "bonus" Swedish and French families, whom she loved dearly. She had a special talent for bringing beauty into the world and was a gifted storyteller, always ready to share a tale with enthusiasm and heart.
LuAnn is survived by her husband, Mark Jordan, and her children: Stephanie (Jeff) Kohl, Ben Jordan, and Hilary (Ethan) Fiene as well as her beloved grandchildren: Remy, Waylen, Lily, Declan, Chett, and Arlen and her mother, Carole Busjahn, 5 sisters: Laurene Busjahn, Deb (Jim) Willhite, Diane (Ron) Rimington, Margaret (Mike) Triem, and Mary (Kevin) Wise, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Lewis Busjahn, and her son, Dustin Jordan, who welcome her with open arms.
LuAnn will be remembered as an exceptional caretaker, a devoted wife and mother, and a cherished friend to many. Her legacy of love, leadership, and creativity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A visitation took place from 2:00-5:00 pm on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lena. A Memorial Service took place at 5:00 pm on Sunday, September 22,2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lena. A time of fellowship took place immediately following the service. Pastor Christopher Ham officiated the service. A private family burial will take place at 10:00 am on Monday, September 23, 2024, at the Salem U.C.C. Cemetery in Eleroy, IL.

William “Bill” S. McFadden, 83
William “Bill” S. McFadden, age 83 of Apple River, IL passed away on September 11, 2024 in Apple River, IL. Bill was born on May 30, 1941 in Freeport, IL to Mayne and Lucille (Groom) McFadden. He was a 1959 graduate of Warren High School, and he attended University of Illinois and University of Wisconsin Agriculture courses. On June 15, 1968 Bill was united in marriage to Joanne Hesselbacher at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Scales Mound. He owned and operated MGM farms.
Faith, family, and farming were the three words that could best describe Bill. His leadership and contribution to countless organizations in the greater Jo Daviess County area and beyond will carry on forever. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple River. Bill’s greatest accomplishment in his life was his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a proud Papa and went to everything they were involved in from sporting events to marching band.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Joanne and their three children, Amy (Dewayne) Johnson of Norwalk, IA, Dr. Mike (Alane) McFadden of Stockton IL, and Julie (Todd Wells) Morrison of Geneva, IL; his grandchildren, Lucas Johnson, Emilee (Tim) Vandenburgh, Jakob Fransen, Julianne Wilmot, Alivia McFadden, Will Morrison and Charlie Morrison; one great-granddaughter, Elsie Vandenburgh; and two sisters, Nyla (Roger Hervey) Goken, and Nancy (William) Lilliott.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation was from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, September 20, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple River. A memorial mass was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple River. Father Andrew Hernandez and Father Mike Morrissey officiated the services. Cremation rites have been accorded.
