Fatal Crash

On 01/09/2023 at approximately 11:02 P.M., the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a three vehicle crash with multiple injuries on U.S. Rt 20 W approximately 1/10th of a mile west of William Drive, Galena IL.

Upon arrival, Deputies learned that an eastbound 2011 Chevy Cobalt driven by Mallory E Nausner, 18 of Freeport IL, had been operating in the westbound lane attempting to pass a 2005 Peterbilt semi-tractor trailer combination also traveling eastbound on U.S. Rt 20. The semi was being operated by Neil W Bruegger, 26 of Ridott IL.
