Winslow

Shane Michael Stouffer, 55

Shane Michael Stouffer, 55, of Winslow, IL passed away at home after a brief illness on Saturday, June 4th, 2022.

He was born on November 29th, 1966 to Ron & Charlene (Wastel) Stouffer in Waddams Grove, IL. Shane graduated from Lena Winslow High School in 1985. He married Cathy Sue Campbell Stouffer on August 6th, 1996. He worked as a Social Worker at Maryville for 10 years, then in the Agricultural Industry with the family business, Lane View Ag Supply for the last 15 years.

Shane enjoyed visiting with his beloved family and friends, working on cars, cooking new recipes, cracking jokes, sharing his love of music, hanging out by the pool, watching golf and tennis, discussing social justice issues and taking care of his adored dog, Tisha and cat, Meow Meow.

Shane is survived by his daughter Aslan Stouffer (John Cuny) of Winslow, IL; his parents of Waddams Grove, IL; mother-in-law of Winslow, IL; his brothers: Shad & Shawn Stouffer of Waddams Grove, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife Cathy Sue Campbell Stouffer and father-in-law Claire Campbell Sr.

A private family funeral will be held at Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL. A visitation was from 4:00 - 8:00pm on Friday, June 10th, 2022, at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena. A public graveside service was held at 11:00am on Saturday, June 11th, 2022, at Rock Lily Cemetery in Winslow.

Officiating the service was Troy Keene. A memorial has been established in his name.

Warren

Deanna L. Gillette, 54

Deanna L. Gillette, 54, of Warren, IL passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 5, 2022 surrounded by her family, after a three-year battle with cancer. Deanna was born on March 6, 1968 in Freeport, IL to Duane and Judy (Jones) Shaw. She was a 1986 graduate of Warren High School.

Deanna married Todd Gillette on September 11, 1993 at Oakdale Pavilion in Freeport, IL. Deanna and Todd owned and operated Bastian Beverage and Party Supply in Freeport until 2013. She then embarked on her favorite job as a paraprofessional at Warren High School until her retirement in 2022.

Deanna was very crafty and creative. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, doing cross stich, and anything she could let her creative side take over. Her happy place was visiting her trailer on the river in Sauk City, WI. Alongside her best friend, Diane Meinen, they enjoyed creating themed baskets that they raffled off, benefiting St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Deanna is survived by her parents, Duane and Judy Shaw of Warren, IL, her brother; David (Tami) Shaw of Janesville, WI, nephews; Cameron and Ian Shaw, Nathan Bliss, Kyle and Cory Gillette, niece; Savannah Bliss, mother and father-in-law; Syliva and Allen Gillette, and her brother-in-law; Brian Gillette.

She was preceded in death by her husband Todd in 2013, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

A visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 am on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the Warren United Methodist Church in Warren, IL.

Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. Pastor Roger Bronkema will officiate the services. Cremation rites have been accorded.

A memorial has been established in her memory for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and the District 205 Foundation Scholarship.

Hanover

Donna M. Rhodes, 79

Donna M. Rhodes, age 79, of Hanover, IL, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022 at her home with family by her side. A gathering to celebrate Donna’s life will be planned for a date in August, on or around her birthday. Family and friends are invited to share in Donna’s life at lawjonesfuneralhome.com. Donna was born August 18, 1942, in St. Charles, IL, the daughter of Freeman and Ethel (Pearson) Tarter. She attended St. Charles schools, graduating from St. Charles High School. Donna soon went to work for Diamond International, which later became Smurfitt Stone, in St. Charles, retiring after more than 40 years. In 1969, Donna married James S. Rhodes. They celebrated 34 years of marriage before his death in 2003.

Donna centered her entire life around her family. She adored time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and always found a way to brighten the days of those she loved. She was a soft-spoken woman who saw the good in every situation; never complaining. “It is what it is,” she used to say, as she waded through life’s challenges with a smile or a laugh. She was one of those people who found humor in everything, and her infectious laugh was sure to have you chuckling along with her, whether you were truly amused or not. She loved a good puzzle, and made a habit of prioritizing her faith; graciously teaching Sunday school with the Lutheran Church.

Donna is survived by two daughters, Pam (Mike) Penisten, of Hanover, IL and Andrea (Doug) Buell, of Charleston, IL; a son, Ricky (Donna) Zollers, of Kaneville, IL; 10 grandchildren, Becky Penisten, Jackie Pagor, Samantha (Travis) Stefonef, Dustin (Haley) White, Christopher Rhodes, Nicholette Rhodes, Caleb Rhodes, Amber (Jared) King, Seth Buell, and Britney Zollers; nine great-grandchildren, Bentley, Aubry, Owen, Eleanor, Oliver, Alec, Abby, Jade, and Kenadie; and a son-in-law, Glenn White. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Freeman and Ethel; husband, Jimmy; daughters, Kimberly White and Selina Rhodes; granddaughter, Jessica Pagor; and sisters, Beverly (Dewy) Wyatt and Peggy (Donald) Grandt.

Lanark

Robert E. Kucinski, 86

Robert E. Kucinski, age 86, passed away peacefully in his home June 7th, 2022 in Lanark, Illinois. He was surrounded by his family. Law-Jones Funeral Home in Lanark, Illinois will host visitation services 5-8 pm June 16th, 2022. A Catholic mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., June 17th, 2022 at St. Wendelin’s Church in Shannon, Illinois. A full Military Honors Service will be performed graveside.

Aside from his family, Robert’s greatest devotion was to the military. He proudly served in the U.S Army from 1955 until retiring as a Sergeant Major in 1984. He continued his military career by teaching ROTC at Lane Tech H.S (2yrs) and Lake View H.S (14 yrs) in Chicago, Illinois. He proudly wore his uniform for 45 years. Robert was born in Buffalo, New York to Edward and Helen Kucinski.

He is survived by his wife Patricia of 58 years, 4 children Stephen (Luvina) Kucinski, Kendra (John) Beechen, Jon (Catina) Kucinski and Michele (Bruce) Paterson, 19 Grandchildren, 15 Great-Grandchildren and 11 nieces and nephews. Robert is survived by his sister Bernadine Kucinski and brother Paul (Terry) Kucinski. He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Helen, his son Eric, his sister Maureen and his brother Edward.

Elizabeth

Dianne Almeda Zink, 75

Dianne Almeda Zink, age 75, of Elizabeth, IL, passed away June 8, 2022 in her home with her family by her side. A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, June 17, 2022 at 11am at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery of Derinda, with a funeral luncheon to follow. Visitation will take place at Law Jones Funeral Home in Elizabeth from 5pm to 7pm. Family and friends are invited to share in Dianne’s life at lawjonesfuneralhome.com.

Dianne was born July 29, 1946, in Savanna, IL, the daughter of Vernon and Katherine (Aurand) Diehl. She attended Elizabeth schools, graduating from Elizabeth High School. She then went on to Capri College of Cosmetology where she would hone her skills that would serve her as a beautician for the next four decades. She operated a beauty shop out of her home and did hair for the ladies of the Elizabeth Nursing Home. On August 20, 1965, Dianne married Eugene E. Zink at Trinity Lutheran Church of Derinda. They would go on to have four children and celebrate more than 56 years of marriage.

Dianne was a proud member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served as a secretery, and volunteered with the WELCA women’s club. In her free time she loved to crochet, quilt, knit, and sew and made many pieces that will be cherished by her family for years to come. She also was an avid gardener. She spent hours tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, and canning her produce.

Dianne will be dearly missed by her husband, Eugene; children, Lee Zink, Dale (Paula) Zink, and Don (Sissy) Zink; grandchildren, Ryan Zink, Andy Zink, and Jessica Zink; sister, Norma (Ronnie) Robbe; and brother, Jim (JoAnne) Diehl. Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Katherine, and daughter, Sandra Zink.
