The Regionals Came Early

Ask any basketball coach familiar with IHSA post season play, and they will admit that the post season games tend to be much more physical than the regular season because the officials want to "let them play". So, fouls are not called, and it can get more than a little rough.

Well, Thursday night in Scales Mound, the Lady Wildcats and Cougars could have played "Call your own" fouls and everything would have been a LOT better.

Players were getting slapped on a regular basis, or shoved out of bounds, or simply hacked – but calls were not made. You had traveling violations, double dribbles,...
