Pec MLK Tourney Boasts A Loaded Field

Sam Cocagne and the Scales Mound Hornets had little trouble making it into the championship game.
Pecatonica High School had no way of knowing last summer when tournament invitations went out that they would be so lucky, but the High School Boys' Basketball teams that participated in their annual MLK Tournament over the weekend made up quite an impressive field.
Opening round games featured:
Undefeated Scales Mound against Durand
Eastland against Chicago Intrinsic
Pecatonica against Galena
East Dubuque against Polo
In short, there were no "weak sisters" in the field, and only one team had a record below the five hundred mark – Polo at 7-9.
