From the people we've talked to, it's been a long time in coming.

There are All Star basketball games for the boys' and girls' teams, Highland plays host to an All Star Baseball game, and the Shriners have been doing All Star football games for years, but now – for the first time – we will be seeing an All Star Volleyball game this June.

Village Voices is going to sponsor, and has begun the process of putting together, the first ever All Star Volleyball contest. There is still a lot of planning to do, but here is where it stands at this point.
