Dennis “Huck” Neal Larson, 68

Dennis “Huck” Neal Larson, age 68, of Stockton, IL passed away Friday, October 1, 2021 at Illinois Veterans Home of LaSalle.

He was born in Savanna, IL to the late Cyril and Bernice (Knudson) Larson. Dennis married Connie Olthoff on February 12, 1972. They later divorced.

He was a 1971 graduate of Stockton High School and later received his Certificate in Automotive Engines from Highland Community College and his Certificate of Achievement from the Educational Institute of the Hotel and Motel Association. Dennis served in the US Army in Korea during the Vietnam era. He had worked as a welder at Freeport Machine Works. He was a longtime member of A.B.A.T.E. His passion was motorcycles, flower gardens, photography and classic rock music.

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Amy Jo (Mike) Morrison of Marseilles, IL; his son, Brian (Sandrine) Larson of Montgomery, IL; his grandsons, Jacob Larson and Colt Morrison; his brother, Steve Larson of Stockton, IL; and his sister, Joan Bowman of Clinton, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Cy Jr., Keith, and Richard; sister, Darla; and nephews, Jason and Tim.

There will be a funeral service at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton, IL on Thursday October 14, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. with a visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m. The family asks that you please dress casual, that’s what Huck would have wanted. Dwaine Hazen Griffiths, 69

Dwaine Hazen Griffiths was born April 25, 1952, in Savanna, Illinois the son of James and Betty (Gibson) Griffiths.

Dwaine enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending quality time with friends and family, especially his grand-daughter Isla. Some of his best memories include traveling to Texas with his dear friend Garnet Heinen. Dwaine also enjoyed family gatherings with his many nieces and nephews as well as a ton of cousins.

Dwaine moved to Colorado at an early age and enjoyed everything the mountains had to offer. He climbed the mountains of Colorado, ran marathons, fished the beautiful streams, skied the many slopes and hunted throughout his adult life.

Dwaine passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021 at home in Hanover after an extended illness. A private family service will be held. Family and friends are invited to share in Dwaine’s life and leave condolences at lawjonesfuneralhome.com.

Dwaine will be dearly missed by his daughter Megan (Tito) Nava of Austin, Tx; granddaughter, Isla; sister Linda (Richard) Delvaux of Webster, Wi; three brothers, Albert (Sandy) Griffiths of Hanover, IL, Larry (Laurie) Griffiths of Prophetstown, IL, and Jeffrey (Joyce) Griffiths of Columbus, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Betty, and nephew Landon Delvaux.

Miriam Kennedy McLean, 98

Miriam McLean was married to the love of her life for 51 years. During WWII she gave up everything to follow her Air Force pilot around the world.

Miriam Kennedy McLean was born June 9, 1923 in Chance, Alabama and passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at the age of 98. A graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the Elizabeth Cemetery, Elizabeth, Illinois.
