Pirates Overcome Depleted Blackhawks

From the first quarter it was obvious to everyone in attendance that the Galena Pirates were not going to overpower the Stockton Blackhawks on their home field.

Although Galena was seen as a huge favorite coming in, that quickly changed when the Blackhawks took their first drive and marched 68 yards down the field – culminating in a one-yard quarterback sneak by Caleb Mammoser for the touchdown and a 6-0 lead.

It appeared as if the score was going to stay that way going into the halftime break when suddenly the quick strike ability of the Pirates was put on display.
