Lena

Patricia Ann Bolinsky, 82

Patricia Ann Bolinsky, 82, of Lena, Illinois passed away peacefully at the Lena Living Center on June 7th, 2021.

Patricia was born June 10th, 1938 in Freeport, Illinois. She was the daughter of Stanley and Margaret (Suntken) Knoll. Pat attended Freeport High School. She worked at Burgess and then worked for Micro Switch for 25 plus years. Pat loved to collect Elvis memorabilia and enjoyed his music. She spent her past time reading and doing crossword books. Pat could not wait to play bingo at the Lena Living Center. Her humor, politeness, and determination will surely be missed there.

Being a devoted mother and grandmother, her time with family was one of the most important priorities in her life. Pat enjoyed vacationing with her family and making so many memories. She also enjoyed spending time at her sister house and her Aunt Lillian’s farm. Pat will be remembered by her work ethic, her unbelievable strength to live, and kindness to others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Margert (Suntken) Knoll, Sister Dorlores and Kenneth Fransen, Aunt Lillian and Lyle Diddens.

Surviving are her son David Bolinsky, daughter Vicky Bolinsky, and daughter Tammy Stich and husband Tim Stich. Grandchildren Autumn Bolinsky, Michaela Stich, and Brady Stich.

The visitation and funeral service were at Leamon’s Funeral Home in Lena, Illinois on Wednesday June 9th 2021. The visitation was from 9:30am to 11am. Funeral will be at 11am. The burial was at the Lena Burial Park immediately following the funeral.

Joyce L. Beard, 90

Joyce L. Beard, age 90, of Stockton, IL passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021.

She was born April 15, 1931 in Wards Grove Township to the late Henry and Aritha (Thomasson) Ascher at the home of H.L. and S.J Thomasson. Joyce married Mason Beard on July 26, 1949 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Stockton, IL.

Joyce attended 2 years of school at Yankee Hollow in Jo Daviess County, than attended Spring Valley County School in Carroll County and graduated from Shannon High School in 1949. Joyce worked as an aide at St. Francis Hospital in Freeport during the summer of 48 & 49. Joyce was a Cub Scout Den Mother for 10 years and a Cadet Girl Scout Leader for 5 years. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse at Highland in 1974. She had worked at the Lena Nursing Home for 4 years, Morgan Memorial Home in Stockton for 9 years and St. Claire Hospital until 1993 having retired after 20 years. Joyce became involved with Hospice of Northwest Illinois in 1984, serving as a nurse instructor and many other capacities, including President of the Board. Joyce was a 50 plus year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 449, having served as unit 13 district and 2nd division President. She was also a member of eight & forty serving as Chapeau and Eureka Home Extension Unit. Joyce was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church for over 55 years, serving on the Administration Board, Membership Committee, Nominating Committee, President of United Methodist Women, Sunday School Teacher and Bible School Teacher.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 72 years, Mason Beard of Monroe, WI, formerly of Stockton, IL; her three daughters, Shannon (John) Taylor of Guffey, CO, Sherril (Russ) Reusch of Sabula, IA, and Sharon (Brian Johnson) Reid of Madison, WI; her two sons, Bradley (Nancy) Beard of Rockford, IL and Bryan (Laura) Beard of Menasha, WI; her grandchildren, Jody (Darrell) DeBoer, James Hale, Julie McKee, Justin (Ashley) Beard, Andrea (Ryan) Paget, Zachary (Elizabeth) Reusch, Olivia Reusch, Isaac Reusch, Robert (Lisa) Reid, Michelle (Scott) Reid, Heather Reid, Hiel Mason Reid, Ana Beard and MasonJohn Beard; her great grandchildren, Crystal, Cody, Corbin, Miranda, Adam, Bridgette, Scotty, Lindsey, Ruben, Jasmine, Matthew, Kyle, Remington, Reeves, Rozyn, Elijah, Ezra, Ezekiel, Gabriella, Giovonna, Jimmy, Parker, Sidney, William, Adam, Cameron, Alexis and Hailey; her two great great grandchildren, Noah and Stefanie; her several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; her granddaughter-in-law, Tara Hale; and her brother, Jonathan (Judi) Ascher of Mineral Point, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; an infant granddaughter; and a grandson, Jason Hale.

The funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Stockton at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation that began at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Ladies Union Cemetery in Stockton. Kent

Larry C. Hunecke, 78

Larry C. Huneke, age 78, of Kent passed away on Monday June 7, 2021 at U W Hospital in Madison, WI with his family by his side.

He was born on August 16, 1942 to G. Waldo and Evelyn (Clair) Huneke in Freeport, IL. He married Sher’e “Tootie” Brown on September 7, 1962 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lena, IL. He was a lifelong farmer in the rural Lena and Kent areas. He was most recently known as a windshield farmer. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He served on the Stephenson County Fair Board, Stephenson County Farm Bureau and was supervisor for Kent Township. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in 4-H, FFA and all their sporting events. He also liked playing cards, especially euchre.

He is survived by his children; John Huneke of Lena, Jennifer Huneke of Kent and Jason (Kori) Huneke of Lena, grandchildren; Chase, Jade, Reid and Sage Huneke all of Lena, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Tootie in 1999, and his two sisters Linda in2000 and Brenda in 2021.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lena, IL. A visitation was held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Leamon’s Funeral Home in Lena, IL. Burial will be at Lena Burial Park in Lena, IL. Pastor Miho Yasukawa officiated the services.
