The State finals of the Academic Challenge were completed for 2021, with several area students coming away with medals.

The Academic Challenge has students take college level exams in two chosen subjects by the students. But just to reach the state finals a student must finish at the top of their region, then also at their sectional, in order to advance for the state finals.

Kids from Northwest Illinois who won medals at the State Finals include:
