When the announcement first came out – that the IHSA was going to go ahead and allow schools to play basketball in violation of the Governor's order, it seemed to open the door for local schools to give their athletes a season – while Springfield was trying to take it away.

The IHSA was standing up to the big bully that was trying to shut down High School sports. They were being a champion to the cause ... or so it seemed at first.
