Brutal, But Big Beginning

The first ever Cross Country Meet hosted by Eastland High School took off from the tennis courts at the Lake Carroll Clubhouse with the Girl's Varsity race.

The Eastland Cougars have been running Cross Country for the past several years, but never in the school's history have they ever actually hosted a meet. But all of that changed last Friday.

Typically, Eastland traveled in order to compete – running at Dixon, Sterling, Freeport, or any one of an assortment of larger schools that hosted large Cross Country meets. But with the new rules set forth by the IHSA dealing with COVID – all of those larger meets had to cut back – with a maximum of four teams being allowed.
