Last year Warren won the first state title in school history with their co-op with Blackhawk of Wisconsin. But this year, as of right now, they will not be allowed to play.
Every single High School athlete and coach in Illinois was waiting to hear what the IHSA announced last week, but not everyone got the answer they were looking for. Specifically, Scales Mound and Warren co-op in football with schools up in Wisconsin, so ... how were they going to be affected?
Unfortunately, while the IHSA wasn't the bad guy, the Governor's Guidelines were as they denied the two schools the ability to play because – as of press time – Wisconsin is planning on kicking off their football season in September.
