The Eastland Cougars celebrate their Class 1A State Championship as the final horn goes off.

The Eastland Cougars were in trouble.

At halftime of the Class 1A State Championship game, Eastland trailed the top ranked Lewistown Lady Indians by ten at 36-26. To make matters even worse, they looked bad doing it.

Lewistown was using a full court 1-2-2 press that was befuddling the Cougars into silly turnovers. In fact, Eastland had 12 of them in the first half. On top of that, All State players Anna Heffren and Sydney Shaeffer were making the Cougar defense look slow as they already had 23 points in the game.
