Stockton

Warren “Cowboy” C. Mohrbacher, 91

Warren “Cowboy” C. Mohrbacher, 91, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Waverly Place in Stockton.

He was born on May 24, 1928 in Des Plaines, IL to Carl and Dorothy (Roesslein) Mohrbacher. Cowboy married Kristine “Krissy” Nelson on February 3, 1984. He served his country in the United States Army from 1952-1957. During his career in the Army, he was a part of 250 paratroop jumps. Cowboy was also a certified black belt. He farmed his entire youth, where he found his love for horses, becoming a farrier for many years, patenting hitches and special boots. Alongside his wife Krissy, they were animal advocates and worked at many racetracks.

Cowboy is survived by his niece; Debbie (Joel) Penkuhn, sisters-in-law; Sandra Marie Nelson, Marjorie (Ron) Mapes, Julie (Tommie) Nelson, and Jackie Nelson, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Krissy in 2018, brothers-in-law Ronnie and Bucky Nelson.

A celebration of life will be held at the Apple River Park House in Apple River at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name.

Warren

Robert “Bob” D. Sutter, 80

Robert “Bob” D. Sutter, 80, formerly of Warren, IL passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019 at home in South Wayne, WI surrounded by his loving family.

On February 18, 1939 Bob was born in Dubuque, IA to Robert and Goldie (Kressig) Sutter of East Dubuque, IL. On August 10, 1963, he married Marjorie Jamason, the love of his life. Together they shared 47 years as a prime example of husband and wife before Marjorie passed away in 2010 due to illness.

Bob began his law enforcement career in 1960 when he began working for the East Dubuque Police Department. He accepted the sight superintendent position at the Apple River Canyon State Park where he retired in 1991. From 1960-1990, Bob also worked part-time as Sherriff Deputy with the Jo Daviess Sheriff’s Department.

Bob enjoyed creating memories with his wife, three children, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Bob enjoyed many outdoor activities; hunting, fishing, camping, and participating in historical reenactments in the area. Bob also created joyous memories with several people who couldn’t help but love him and his ways. When family and friends share Bob’s memory and stories, there will assuredly be more smiles, love, and laughter than sorrow and tears.

To share his memory, Bob leaves behind his daughter Lee Ann (Allen) Melland of South Wayne, WI, sons Robert (Darci) Sutter of Lena, IL, and Brian (Lalita) Sutter of Mt. Morris, IL, and a sister Roberta of East Dubuque, IL. Also surviving are his granddaughter Ashleigh (Josh) Calaway of Pittsville, WI, Kevyn Ann, Andrea, Allonah, and Ainsley Sutter all of Lena, IL, grandsons Michael, Christian, and Garrett Sutter of Lena, IL, and Tyler Sutter of Mt. Morris, IL, and his great-granddaughter Alena Calaway of Pittsville, WI. Bob also leaves behind a great number of people with whom he shared several discussions, jokes, and special moments. Among those surviving special people are Dennis Jamason, Gary and Pat Miller, Tim and Connie Maupin, Elsie Redington, Michael Redington, Lloyd Redington, and Derek Schap.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie, his mother Goldie Kaufmann, father Robert Sutter, and stepfather Raymond Kaufmann.

The family of Bob and Margie Sutter extend a deep appreciation to Dr. Martin Cleary for everything he has done while providing aid and friendship to their family.

Funeral services for Robert D. Sutter were at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren, IL, with a visitation on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, September 27, 2019 at the same location. The funeral was officiated by Pastor Dennis Perger. Burial will take place at St. Ann Catholic Cemetery in Warren, IL. A memorial has been established in his name.

Rockford

Ruth Ann Eilders, 81

Ruth Ann Eilders, 81 of Rockford, Il passed away September 16th at The Arbors at Autumn Creek in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Ruth Ann was born October 15, 1937 in Stephenson County, IL to the late Elmer W. and Helen Shadle Gartner. She graduated from Lena High School in 1955 and married her high school sweetheart, the late William J. Eilders, on June 24, 1956. Ruth Ann made a career of bookkeeping and enjoying crocheting as well as knitting.

Ruth Ann is survived by two children: Jeffrey Steven Eilders (Sandra) of Ridgeland, MS and Douglas Kendall Eilders of Sikeston, MO; four grandchildren: Hope Eilders VanEtten (Jesse) of Brandon, MS, Kathryn Lee Eilders of Collinsville, IL, Hannah Marie Nenninger (Corey) of Oran, MO and Steven William Eilders of Ridgeland, MS; and four great-grandchildren: Camdyn Finley Nenninger, Anna Lyzabeth Kathryn Eilders, Connor Stanley Nenninger, and Baylee Sarah VanEtten.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, William John Eilders, and her son, Timothy Scott Eilders.

Friends and family may come to pay their respects at the memorial service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport on October 5th at 11:00 AM.

Agnes D. Drane, 89

Agnes D. Drane, age 89 of Pearl City, IL passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Lena Living Center.

She was born January 13, 1930 at home in Rice Township to the late James and Clara (Petitgout) Lyden. Agnes married Ralph Drane on November 4, 1947 at St. Michaels Church in Galena, IL. Ralph passed away on November 17, 1997.

Agnes was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lena. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary. Agnes had worked at Newell and owned and operated Drane’s Café in Pearl City. She enjoyed embroidering, cooking, going to craft shows, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Craig (Gina) Drane of Plainfield and Ralph Jr. (Connie) of Pearl City; her daughters, Patricia (Richard) Dykstra of Morrison and Sandra (Ron) Rogers of Kent; her 12 grandchildren, Jason (Monica) Drane of Freeport, Ben Drane of Plainfield, Shawn Dykstra of Davenport, IA, Darren (Maggie) Dykstra of Moline, IL, Brian (Alexis) Dykstra of Davenport, Monica (Stephen) Vann of Waunakee, WI, Katie (Mike) Tichler of Pearl City, Nichole (Michael) Crichton of Shannon, IL, Rebecca (Aaron) Mueller of Carmel, IN, Kelly (Wes) Coker of Westfield, IN, Annie (Brian) Peight of Lena, and Stacy (Corey Gazouski) McKee of Freeport; 28 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her two brothers, Ed and Clarence; and her sister, Mary Falancer.

The funeral service was held on Monday, September 30, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lena at 11:00 a.m. There was a visitation on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Hermann Funeral Home in Pearl City. Interment will take place at Highland Cemetery in Pearl City. A memorial fund has been established.
