Forestry Tour And Sawmill Demonstration

The Northwest Illinois Forestry Association will tour Johnson Creek Hardwoods, near Mount Carroll, on Saturday, September 21, from 1:00 until 4:00 pm.

For over 20 years, this facility has been producing high quality lumber for craftsmen and woodworkers. Their stock is sourced from two-dozen northwestern Illinois hardwood species in their adjacent woodland.

The Johnsons will show their standing timber and will lead a walk through their shop discussing how logs are cut, lumber is dried, and their emphasis on quality. The finished products are displayed in their “Board Room”. Michael J...
