Eight members of the River Ridge FFA Chapter traveled to Pecatonica High School on December 5th to compete in the Section One FFA Greenhand Quiz Bowl competition. A greenhand is a first-year high school FFA member and the competition is restricted to only those students. The Pearl City Technowolves had a very good day at the Rockford Qualifier. They brought home the Finalist for the Champion's Award, which is basically 2nd place overall based on all the judged areas. The River Ridge FFA Chapter hosted a non-perishable food drive in the weeks before Thanksgiving. The elementary, junior high, and high school students were all invited to donate food items as well as paper products. Members of the officer team collected the items in several different locations. On Nov. 27, the Scheider Family generously donated $1,000 in memory of Le-Win Alumnus Terry Scheider to sponsor a student for the 2024 Le-Win Music Trip.
