  • The Lighter Side

    Sep 16, 2020

I'm going to call my Mom and ask if that offer to slap me into next year is still on the table. Whatever you must do today ... Do it with the confidence of a four year old wearing a Batman cape! When I dunk my cookies in milk I think of you ... then hold them under until the bubbles stop. In the future, when my grandkids ask me about 2020 when the world was tragically out of toilet paper ... I plan to tell them that we had to drag our butts across the grass ... uphill ... both directions ... in the snow! What really sucks now is that Corona is...

    Kevin Cernak|Sep 16, 2020

On March 10, 2015, a group of Belgian tourists were sent on a detour of close to 800 miles after a GPS navigation error by their bus driver. Dan Stevens|Sep 16, 2020

The weather was cold, with a constant drizzle and biting wind, but that didn't stop the Eastland Cougars from hosting their second Cross Country meet out at Lake Carroll. Once again the new Eastland home course proved brutal to all competitors with the meandering hilly terrain, but once again the Lady Cougars were able to claim victory at home. In Cross Country, five runners must finish the race and have their scores combined to arrive at a team score. The first time they ran at Eastland, Amboy...

  • Point To Ponder

    Dan Stevens|Sep 16, 2020

It’s my anniversary next month, and when it came up in conversation last week it made me think about where I am today with my wife and family. But unlike most people who think back on the years they’ve spent with their spouse - what I found myself looking back on was what my life was like before I ever got married.
